‘More out than in’ – Mohamed Salah drops huge Liverpool contract update in bombshell interview

Mohamed Salah has admitted he is “probably more out than in” when it comes to staying at Liverpool beyond this season.

The Reds star’s contract expires at the end of the season, meaning his time at Anfield could come to an end after seven years.

The Liverpool winger told NBC Sports Soccer after Sunday’s game at Southampton: “Well, we’re almost into December and I haven’t had any offers to stay at the club yet.” [so] I’m probably outside more than I am inside.

“You know, I’ve been at the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it’s out of my hands. Like I said, it’s December and I haven’t found out anything about my future yet.” .

“I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it’s not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see. Naturally.” [no offer is disappointing]Yes.

“I’m not retiring soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season and trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League too. I’m disappointed, but we’ll see.”

“I am very professional. Everyone can see my work ethic. I’m just trying to enjoy football and play at the highest level for as long as possible.”

“I just do my best because that’s who I am and I try to give everything for myself and the club. We’ll see what happens next.”

Asked whether a move to Saudi Arabia could be part of the considerations if a new deal is not agreed at Anfield, Salah added: “I don’t want to talk about that. I’m concentrating on the team now.”

“It’s an important victory [against Southampton]. I’m glad we were able to win the game because we were 2-1 down.

“The best thing is to win the game because the next game is against Manchester City. Hopefully we keep winning.”

“I just play my game. I try to relax and just play. The chemistry between the entire team and the new manager is now right.” [Arne Slot]. Hopefully we keep winning and win something at the end.”

Salah’s comments come after Liverpool’s 3-2 win at Southampton on Sunday.

The Egyptian scored twice for the Reds, including the winner from the penalty spot with less than 10 minutes left.

The win extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points after Manchester City were beaten 4-0 at home to Tottenham on Saturday.

He has been an important star at the club since his move from Roma in 2017, helping the Reds win the Champions League and Premier League, among other titles.

Earlier this month, The Pitch Prospect reported that Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal wanted to sign Salah.

The Saudi Arabian club want to use the former Chelsea striker ahead of next summer’s Club World Cup to prepare for a potential blocking clash with Lionel Messi.

Liverpool rejected a huge £150m offer for the Al Ittihad winger in September 2023.

Al Hilal was also enthusiastic at the time.

The Pitch Prospect understands Al Ittihad’s original package is on the table. It is believed that the Saudi Pro League clubs are waiting, as Salah first wanted to hear an offer from Liverpool, but it does not appear to have been received.

Saudi Pro League sports director Michael Emenalo is conducting all discussions with Salah, who knows him well.

Salah is the second highest goalscorer in the Premier League this season with ten goals, two behind Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

He also recorded six assists.
