Chelsea officially announced the signing of João Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion at the beginning of this week, with the Brazilian committed an eight -year contract.
As today, Chelsea flooded her social media channels with photos, videos and interviews with her latest star. The 24-year-old asked a number of questions in a rapid-fire-Q & A video.
Pedros answers were largely predictable: his favorite -chelsea player ever? Frank Lampard. Grow up his football idol? Neymar. The best player he has ever played against? Cristiano Ronaldo.
But when asked who the best player with whom he has ever played with, Pedro’s answer was completely unprepared.
“James Milner,” he said.
Milner, who came to Brighton at the age of 37, spent two seasons next to Pedro at the Amex Stadium before the Brazilian switched to Stamford Bridge.
While Milner, who is now undoubtedly a Premier -League legend -with two league titles and a Champions -League -Trophy with Liverpool -only a few expected Pedro, to name him about flashing teammates or compatriots. However, the fans were fascinated by the honest answer, perhaps from the heart.
A fan wrote on social media: “They asked João Pedro, who is the best player with whom he has ever played, and he only said Milner. I rate that.”
Milner, who is currently pursuing Gareth Barry’s Premier League performance record of all time, only needs 16 more games to surpass them. After signing an extension at Brighton, he will probably break the record next season.
And when Chelsea meets Brighton again, Milner may be the best player who has Pedro ever played against – Not just next to.
Better than Ronaldo? Maybe that’s a distance. However, Pedro clearly evaluates the experienced midfielder than most expected.
