Jeremy Jacquet has suffered a serious shoulder injury just days after announcing his transfer to Liverpool.
The centre-back, who is set to join the Reds for £60m this summer, was in action for Rennes against Lens on Saturday evening.

Jacquet was substituted in the 69th minute of the 3-1 Ligue defeat, screaming in pain due to a shoulder injury.
Rennes boss Habib Beye subsequently confirmed that the 20-year-old’s injury was serious.
“For Jeremy it is his shoulder and for Abdelhamid [Ait Boudlal, who was also injured]it is muscular.
“We’ll have time to see it, but it’s definitely pretty serious for both of them.”
It is unclear how long Jacquet, who made his 19th league start this season, will be sidelined.
Liverpool get the future star
With Ibrahima Konate’s contract expiring at the end of the season, it’s no surprise that Liverpool are eyeing a new defender.
Their Premier League rivals Chelsea have been heavily linked with France Under-21 star Jacquet throughout January.
However, it was Liverpool who managed to secure a deal ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Jacquet will join for an initial fee of £55m with further add-ons worth £5m.
His signing follows the Reds’ previous interest in Marc Guehi, who was set to move last summer before his contract fell through.

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot said his first words to Jacquet during his press conference earlier this week.
“Very gratifying, of course, because, firstly, he is a very great talent – and perhaps even more than ‘just’ a talent, but of course we speak of talent because of his age.”
“Secondly, because we weren’t the only ones interested in him. Another big compliment to the people who work so hard every day to sign players that we were able to sign such a great talent.”
“And [it is] Another example of the model we use at this club: So young, very talented players, sometimes at the beginning of their career, sometimes already a few years into their career, but always players who are young and can improve us and help us in the short term, but definitely also in the long term.
“We have signed a lot of them recently and I have said many times that the medium to long-term but also short-term future of this club is very, very, very good.”
