Newcastle United has confirmed that Eddie Howe is suffering from pneumonia and will miss at least two more games while recovering in the hospital.
Howe was forced to look for medical treatment last week after feeling uncomfortable for several days. The popular Newcastle boss is supposed to watch his family in consciousness and in conversation with his family how his magpies frolick on Sunday afternoon for a 4-1 win against Manchester United.
In an explanation on the official website of Newcastle, the association wrote: “Newcastle United can tell that Eddie Howe is recovering in the hospital after diagnosing pneumonia. The club continues to expand Eddie and his family his best wishes and support for Eddie and his family, while he continues his recovery.
“Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones will lead the team against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa this week, whereby further updates are to be communicated in due course.”
Howe also gave his first explanation to the hospital since he was admitted: “A big thank you to everyone who was associated with Newcastle United and the broader football community for their news and warm wishes. They meant a lot to me and my family.
“I would also like to pay tribute to our incredible NHS and the hospital staff who treated me. I am very grateful for the specialist care that I receive and after a time of recovery I look forward to being back as soon as possible.”
Tindall took over the center for the humiliating Manchester United in St. James’ Park and will take the reins again on Wednesday from an in-socket crystal palace and a tricky trip to Villa Park next Saturday. Howe’s long -term assistant claimed that Newcastle ‘profit “increased his mood”.
“Eddie and I have been working together for 17 years and I don’t think he has ever missed more than a day or two during this time,” added Tindall after the game on Sunday. “Before the game, I had an SMS from Eddie that he did his trust in myself to do what I thought was right. I sent him a few messages today to say that he was very missing. He is one of the best managers that exist.”
Newcastle would take third place if it would avoid a defeat against the Palace during the week in St. James’ Park. Only six games in an increasingly competitive race for the qualification of the Champions League.
