Sam Kerr hit another milestone in her famous career by receiving her own signature boots.
The striker of Chelsea and Australia teamed up with Nike to start her first Mercurial Superfly of the Player Edition, a design that recognizes your home country, her career and one of her greatest sporty idols.
The boots arrive in a light sandy base, an allusion to the beaches of Australia, with blue -gray flashing, pink and orange that run through them to reflect the ocean, the sunsets and rocky landscapes.
“The colors of the boot think about what I think when I think of at home: Perth’s ocean and sunsets,” said Kerr. “It’s a memory of where I come from.”
Personal details are distributed throughout the design, including its striking mantra, “consistent”, which is etched in the Tätowian screenplay over the upper material, and subtle references to their playing style (“Forever Forward”) and their Western Australian roots (“Perth Swagger”).
The most striking detail is the brave strip that cuts the toes of the suitcase, inspired by Cathy Freeman’s unforgettable gold medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000. At the top of the strip there is a small tribute for Freemans victory – a nod to an athlete who has long cited as one of his shepherds.
Your signature is stamped onto the heel to round off the design and give each couple the feeling of being personally signed.
Nike also organizes a broader collection of boots. A Field General Sneaker reflects the same color palette and contains Kerr’s personal messages in the tongue and upper, while an oversized fleece hoodie comes into blue -green and is connected to her career.
For a player who has been at the top of the women’s play for over a decade, it feels long overdue. But with a design of this personal, lively and symbolic design, it is clear that waiting has only made the end result so much sweeter.
