The Man United player has suggested leaving Old Trafford.

The Red Devils academy youngster was left out of the squad for the Manchester derby win over Manchester City along with Alejandro Garnacho, raising questions about his future at Old Trafford.

One of his potential new clubs that has been mooted by fans is Tottenham – but despite Spurs boss Postecoglou praising him as a “good player”, the Australian refused to comment on the situation.

Asked about the conversation surrounding Rashford ahead of his side’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Man United, which will be broadcast live on The Pitch Prospect, Postecoglou said: “There’s always excitement about Man United, mate, come on.”

“Not interested, whatever,” he continued as he pressed it again.

“No interest, he’s a Man United player. A very good player. They have a lot of good players.”

“I manage my players, I think other people will manage their players.”

“But as for Marcus’ situation, I don’t really feel like investigating it further.”

The Red Devils are open to offers for the striker as Ruben Amorim wants to make major changes to his playing squad, according to The Pitch Prospect.

The Portuguese coach himself was also asked about Rashford’s revelation.

Pressed on the 27-year-old’s view that he needs a new challenge, he said: “I think it’s right.”

“We are facing a new challenge here, it is a difficult one. For me it is the biggest challenge in football because we are in a difficult situation and I have already said that this is one of the biggest clubs in the world.”

“This is a really new and biggest challenge. I really hope that all my players are ready for this new challenge.”

Rashford was sent home from training with an illness on Monday, a day after his snub on derby day.

He then went back to his old elementary school to distribute 420 gifts to the students the next day.

At the time, he told Winter about his desire to explore opportunities beyond the club where he spent two decades of his life.

Rashford said: “Personally I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps.

Rashford has been unable to recapture his previous form in recent seasons.

“When I leave, I’ll say, ‘No hard feelings.’ You won’t get any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s who I am as a person.”

“If I know a situation is already bad, I won’t make it worse. I’ve seen other players leave in the past and I don’t want to be that person.”

“When I leave, I will make a statement and it will be 100 percent mine.”

Rashford added: “I’m halfway through my career. I don’t expect to reach my climax now.

“I have been in the Premier League for nine years so far and have learned a lot from it, which has helped me grow as a player and as a person.”

“So I don’t regret the last nine years.

“I won’t have any regrets in the future because I take things day by day and sometimes bad things happen, sometimes good things happen. I just try to keep a good balance.”

Asked if the best is yet to come, Rashford replied: “100 percent. That’s my mentality.”

It remains to be seen whether Rashford will be in the squad for Man United’s trip to Tottenham on Thursday.
