The Pitch Prospect has learned that the Gunners have reached an agreement in principle to sign the 22-year-old. The deal is initially valued at £34 million, rising to £38 million through add-ons.

A screenshot of a TikTok story from an account called bboeme_, which shows Boeme as the profile picture on his page alongside other posts from the couple, was picked up by Gunners fans on Saturday.

The post on the account read: “Many of you have been asking what’s been going on in my life lately, so I decided to finally share it with you. Riccardo and I are no longer together at the moment.”

“I don’t know if we’ll move on, but I doubt it. I needed some time to process everything that happened in the last 3-4 days. I still need time.”

“Thank you to everyone who showed me the video that was circulating on TikTok this week. I appreciate it; it was important for me to know the truth.”

“I watched it countless times, looking for a reason to forgive and forget, but I couldn’t. We talked about it, but I’m still not sure of the answers to my questions.

“It was a difficult decision that we thought about for days. Neither of us wanted this, but what happened, happened and I can’t help but want to run away from it all.

“I will not tolerate any hatred towards me or him. I wish him all the best in his move to Arsenal. He has my full support.”

“And if any of my followers feel like they don’t want to follow me anymore now that I’m gone, they’re welcome to unfollow me. Thank you for your understanding.”

Now, however, Boeme denies on Instagram having posted this or even having a TikTok account.

In her story to her 40.9k followers, she wrote: “I am forced to write here that I don’t have a TikTok profile!! Someone is pretending to be me and writing things that aren’t true!”

“This is my only social media account. I have never spoken about anything and never will.”

“I politely ask the person who opened the TikTok profile, pretending to be me and writing personal and sensitive things that are then reported as articles in the media, to close the profile immediately, otherwise I will take legal action.”

If he signs, Calafiori would be Arsenal’s first signing this summer.

European football expert Lars Sivertsen gave the defender a detailed assessment to The Pitch Prospect and praised him as a “very confident defender”.
