Pep Guardiola asked Manchester City squad to treat the Premier League on Tuesday with Aston Villa as a “final” when they want to take a step forward to qualify for the Champions League.
England’s Top 5 will book a place in the top competition in Europe next season. While Liverpool and Arsenal are certificates that qualify, only two points separate the five pages between the third and seventh: Newcastle United, Man City, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.
The missions are clear and Guardiola is not an illusion of the difficulty of facing the villa that recently followed a 3-2 victory against Paris Saint-Germain after the reduction of newcastle with 4: 1.
“You are a candidate to qualify for the Champions League,” said Guardiola before the game. You see the game you played against my girlfriend Luis Enrique [PSG manager] – Wow, I was really very impressed.
“You can play a low block and play away, but if you choose the weapons you have, the speed you have, you are incredibly well organized.
“It is a finale and we need our people because I think our people want the Champions League again next season and hopefully they can help us from the first minute. Sometimes we are sloppy, sometimes we don’t play well, now we urgently need them to support ourselves, make noise and be there all the time because it is absolutely a final for us.”
City has a cheap registration to round off the season after the meeting on Tuesday. The lower side of Southampton and European HopeFul’s Bournemouth follows a resonating Wolverhampton Wanderers before ending the season in Fulham.
In this is a FA Cup run that starts against Forest this weekend. A final against villa could expect if Emery’s team defeated Crystal Palace in their own semi -finals.
