Pep Guardiola, Manager of Manchester City, admitted that this would still be a “bad” season for the dethroned Premier League master, even if they qualify for the Champions League.
When City’s conflict against Aston Villa was deeply closed on Tuesday evening in the Etihad Stadium in the stadium of the Etihad Stadium, it looked as if Guardiola’s team had missed their opportunity to take third place at the Premier League table.
Bernardo Silva’s start in the seventh minute, with the kind permission of an excellent wing game by Omar Marmoush, was canceled by a controversial punishment by Aston Villa Lreditee Marcus Rashford.
A tie would not have been a catastrophic result for the reigning Premier League champions, but Guardiola would have had almost certainly disappointed to fall points. Fortunately, he let Jeremy Doku ran up the sleeve to offer Matheus Nunes an excellent assistant assist to break Aston Villa Hearts.
Guardiola broke out in a joy, but cleared: “The season was bad. It doesn’t matter for the final or when we are finished in the Champions League. What you feel good is the Premier League. It happened and sometimes they have bad seasons. Liverpool becomes master and the level of the teams is excellent.”
Nevertheless, the Catalan coach reserved a lot of praise for the city’s match winner. “Jeremy always gives you something for the crowd, we have changed the game,” said Guardiola about the effects of his replacement. “In the first three or four actions [against] Disasi and painting, he couldn’t do the action.
“But in the end … For me, Jeremy is the best player in the world in the first meters. He cannot be stopped in the first five meters.”
Guardiola’s wasteful comments could be perceived as excessively emotional after an important victory, but his argument certainly has earnings. Dokus explosive pace about the catastrophe was impressive – although it was less about the Frenchman’s decision to cut a foot in the better – and the key was to open the room to put the ball into the criminal area of Villa.
What followed was a lavish outside the boot film about the six-yard box, on which a first-class Kevin de Bruyne would have been proud.
“We played very well. Aggressively in our duels and back were incredible. Really delighted,” said Guardiola about City’s overall performance. “Football is emotions. The last two games were so difficult, so we are really pleased. I was so happy. I have to admit! Try not to lose because 1-1 was not a bad result, but Jeremy’s action was so good.
“The team fought a lot. The performance was really good. It is a fantastic team.”
