Only a few kits in football history can be seen immediately like Peru’s World Cup jersey from 1978 – a crispy white canvas, which is slapped with this brave, diagonal red sash. Although the team did not make it beyond the group phase this year, the look became an icon.
Now Adidas revives this legendary design as part of its ongoing “Bring Back” retro series -and it is a beauty.
After their latest drops to celebrate Argentina’s 50th anniversary kit and the 100th anniversary of Colombia, Adidas now open the spotlight La Blanquirroja.
The capsule entitled “Bring Back Del 78” revives the long-sleeved version of Perus ’78 jersey in a loyal detail: the sash is sharp, the silhouette is clean and the adidas original-trefoil logo sits proudly on the chest and allusions of the era from which it came.
The publication does not stop at the shirt. Also included are suitable red lane and bottom, each of which is issued by Adidas’ Signature Three Stripes and Perus Retro coat of arms-closes a look into a complete adaptation to the cultural heritage.
To celebrate the start, Adida’s legends and emerging stars brought together. 1978 heroes such as Héctor Chumpitaz and Teófilo Cubillas are closely related to the current national personalities – Paolo Guerrero, Maanker Reyes, Flavia Montes, Ian Wisdom and Fabiola Herrera – in a symbolic celebration of the permanent lega of Peruvian football.
It is more than a jersey-ES is a bridge over generations, a portable piece of history and a sharply looking homage La Blanquirroja Past.
The “Bring Back Del 78” collection is now available at ProdirectSport.com.
