Phil Jones belongs to a group of former Premier League stars who are completed at the Pfa Business School and ensure a diploma in sports directorate.
The former defender of Manchester United, who retired last year at the age of 32, he was introduced to his diploma this week at a ceremony. Jones shared photos on Instagram in his hat and dress and indicated the next step of his career.
“Global Sporting Directors Course @thepfabusiness,” he wrote. “Building on my coaching badge and the current professional license during the trip continues …”
Congratulations quickly flocked from the former teammates United and England, including Antonio Valencia and Kyle Walker as well as Benni McCarthy and Sam Allardyce – the manager, who gave him his professional breakthrough at Blackburn Rovers for the first time.
Jones was not the only familiar name in the final class.
The former goalkeeper of Newcastle and Norwich Tim Krul and West Brom Stalwart Kyle Bartley also received diplomas in the sports director, while the winner of the Premier League, Danny Simpson, completed a diploma in football psychology, emotional intelligence and leadership.
There were also current stars: Yoane Wissa von Newcastle and the five-time Premier League master Ilkay Gündogan were both part of the last recording.
With regard to Jones, some fans with Manchester United in Deep Crisis will ask themselves and next to the field whether a future role in Old Trafford could only be on the horizon.
