Arsenal secured an impressive lead in her Champions League Last 16 draw with a dominant 7-1 win at PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday evening.
Jurrien Timber went home 18 minutes, just a few moments after Ismael Sabari had somehow hit PSV up close after David Raya had brought a cross in the way, and Ethan Nwaneri doubled Arsenals almost immediately afterwards when he thundered home right outside the six-yard box.
Mikel Merino did three at half an hour. Some catastrophic PSV gave the ball effectively on Arsenal’s deputy, who flashed the real serenity to lead the ball into the back of the network. However, PSV had the last laugh of the first half when Noa Lang crashed in an excellent punishment.
Arsenal Tore Four and Five added four minutes of the second half. Martin Odegaard knocked home up close, and before PSV had settled, Leandro Trossard Walter Benitez broke off to effectively secure Arsenal in the next round.
Odegaard sackled the sixth 20 minutes before the time and Oleksandr Zinchenko almost added a seventh, but this last goal finally came through the unlikely sight from Riccardo Calafiori, who rolled down the right wing and knocked home into the dying embers.
