Player ratings as Gunners claw back two-goal deficit at Anfield

It started with an Arsenal guards to the team that they followed unsuccessfully throughout the season, but the Gunners claimed an unlikely point.

Since his confirmation as a Premier League master with several games, Liverpool has no longer been in the best, while they were understandably taken their feet from the gas without other competitions and had not distributed minutes on the field.

But the Reds still ran 2-0 in the first half by quick-fire goals from Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz.

Arsenal, wounds still fresh from a semi-final from Champions League through the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the middle of the week, finally scratched into play.

Gabriel Martinelli halved the lead of Liverpool right after half-time before Mikel Merino was in a more conventional midfield role and pulled the Gunners-Level with a 20-minute lead.

But Arsenal would end the game with ten players when Merino collected a second yellow card, which was expanded in the first half.

The Gunners almost completed the comeback in added time when Martin Odegaard only spread a decent effort, which would have been a certain comfort in the season. Liverpool then went closer to the win when Andrew Robertson devoured a rebound on a corner, just to rule it out after Var discovered a foul in the line -up.
