Player ratings as Magpies edge closer to Champions League qualification

Newcastle took a big step towards a top 5 finish and the Champions League of the next season by defeating 2-0 with 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in St. James’ Park.

Sandro Tonali’s early opener made sure that the hosts made the best possible start, and Chelsea tried to react as a result when she succumbed to the intensity of the magpies with and without ball. Newcastle was impressive without creating so much, and Robert Sanchez rarely called into practice.

Harvey Barnes and Bruno Guimaraes wasted no more than half of the chances, while Dan Burn was only broad after Nicolas Jackson had been sent from the forearm to Sven Botman’s face. Chelsea had it climbed with a mountain, but they reacted well after half -time. Her best period of the competition led Nick Pope produced an excellent rescue to refuse a Marc Cucurella -Drive.

Newcastle was unable to reset control, and Chelsea continued to threaten despite her husband. The half-time arrival REECE JAMES pushed a great chance with his head in the final phase, and the skipper’s Miss proved to be expensive. Shortly afterwards, a distracted effort from Bruno Guimaraes from reach sealed the points for the hosts who ended the weekend in third place.

Meanwhile, Chelsea risks from the top 5. You will celebrate Leicester on the City Ground.
