Player ratings as Saka marks triumphant return with a goal

After Bukayo Saka waited for 101 days impatiently on the sidelines, he only took six minutes to mark his return to fitness with a goal and nodded at home in a 2-1 win in Fulham on Tuesday evening.

“We missed him,” admitted Mikel Areteta this week. The Gunner’s boss also admitted that it was “a difficult decision” to oppose the urge to start his star player against the huts. After a particularly lukewarm opening for 30 minutes, it looked as if Areta had made the wrong call.

There was many concerns that Fulham – even with the overpopulated enclave of the former arsenal players – would be emptied at home at home by their quarter -finals of the FA Cup on Saturday. In reality, the hosts were just as flat as the visitors.

The burgeoning positivity, which hopped around the Emirates after the start in the Emirates after Saka’s return to the squad, was quickly leased for Gabriel. The Brazilian central defender lasted 16 minutes before taking his participation in the Champions League quarter-finals of the next week against Real Madrid in case of doubt.

Ethan Nwaneri started instead of Saka and Teed in the 37th minute Mikel Merino’s opening goal. Arsenal’s Stopgap striker tamed the low reduction of the teenager in a crowded penalty area, bundled and shot a weak, right-footed effort before Jorge Cuenca’s knee, which was kindly rejected into the outermost corner.

The Gunners were greatly improved immediately after the interval and created a few clear chances before finally scored their second goal – who else? – Bukayo Saka. In a night that the winger returns perfectly, they save Gabriel Martinelli a thought.

The Brazilian, who lives in Saka’s shadow, enjoyed a rare form of return on Tuesday and consistently terrorized the poor Timothy -Castagne. Martinelli provided the bold back film, which led Merinos Kreuz in the way of Saka, who only had to open his eyes in Arsenal’s second night in the 73rd minute and kept open to head to Arsenal’s second night. The overarching striker celebrated his first goal after three months by recovering Sam Wilson, the fitness trainer who helped Saka, to recover from his thigh injury.

Despite the best efforts from Saka, it was a night of assets for arsenal. Rodrigo Muniz discovered David Raya with a distracted effort in the intermediate time in the second half. The Brazilian submarine had already wasted an even clearer opening after repeating Jakub Kiwior’s non -convincing replacement from Gabriel. Jurrien Timber also limp in a game in which three points were won, but it still felt like something was lost.
