FATAWU has four years remaining in the King Power Stadium.

The 21-year-old initially joined the foxes in 2023, which were loaned by Sporting Lisbon.

His move was permanently made a year later after the Premier League was promoted.

Since then, Fatawu has made 58 appearances for Leicester, scored seven goals and added 15 templates.

Despite the last term, he was able to return to the top class with Sunderland.

The team of Regis Le Bris started their campaign at West Ham on Saturday after eight years before the Premier League.

The goals of the second half of Eliezer Mayenda, Daniel Ballard and Wilson Isidor secured a 3-0 victory in the Stadion of Light.

In the meantime, Leicester was beaten 2-1 in Preston in the first defeat in season.

The foxes came late after 16-year-old Jeremy Monga balanced to become the youngest scorer of the championship.

After the defeat, Fatawu published a defiant message to the supporters on social media.

He wrote on Instagram: “So disappointed by the game yesterday.

“But as we say and believe that the foxes never stopped too early in this phase of the season when we leave the (the) stadium so early when we are at one.

“This is the best time we need. You cannot celebrate with the team and don’t want to lose with the team.

“This is a football game, and you cannot win every time, so we all need on both sides so that you can be proud to celebrate victories with the team.

“This is the time to stick together to be strong so that this team get what they earn. Thanks to all the traveling fans for their amazing support, but we need more.”
