Premier League explain why Everton penalty was overturned in Man Utd draw

Everton remained angry after Var intervened to fall a punishment in the interruption time of 2: 2 on Saturday with Manchester United.

Thanks to the goals of Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte, the Red Devils had withdrawn on level conditions, but it looked as if their hard work was not going to do anything if the referee Andy Madley Everton gave a penalty in the third minute of added time.

Ashley Young went under the coercion of Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire, both of whom seemed to have pulled the Young’s shirt before scored the lawn. The referee quickly gave a punishment before the Var proposed a review.

After Madley had checked the monitor, he ultimately rose his decision, much to frustrate those in Blue, and the Premier League has now explained why.

“Var checked the call of the punishment according to Everton according to a challenge between Maguire via Young and of the opinion that no foul was committed and recommended a review on the field,” says a statement. “The referee lifted the original decision and restarted with a dropball.”

United managed to hold onto a tie and a share of prey and to hold it a point behind Everton in the 15th.
