Luis Enrique confirmed that the star striker of Paris Saint-Germain, Ousmane Dembele, will be involved in the Wednesday semi-final against Arsenal on Wednesday.
In the second half of the European rushes of the last week, the productive Frenchman started with a thigh problem with the Emirates and prompted Enrique that he was a “doubt” for the second leg. Dembele exposed himself to the training sessions last week and did not even make the squad for the defeat of PSG against Strasbourg on Saturday. However, the leading goal scorer of the team is ready to achieve a timely return during the week.
“He has been training with the squad for two days,” Enrique bluntly revealed at his press conference before the game. “He will be available tomorrow.”
PSG defender Achraf Hakimi added: “He recovered well. I could speak to him, he feels good. The coach will make the decision. If he is not there, it will be someone else. He is a very important player, but he helps us on and outside the field.”
Dembele scored the only goal of the first leg that chaos was causing by fell between the lines. “There is little to add; he is another player,” enthused Hakimi. “He is a player who makes you go to the stadium, he is a genius with the ball.”
The former striker of Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona had never scored more than 14 goals in a single campaign. Dembeles strike in the fourth minute against Arsenal was his 33rd season.
If Dembele does not apply to the start, Enrique could contact Bradley Barcola as a similar option for a fleet foot to complete a fluidfront three that will probably include Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue. Goncalo Ramos offers an orthodox option for center forward that Enrique does not prefer.
