The former interim manager of Manchester United, Ralf Rangnick, has taken a devastating review of the club’s current situation and insisted that they are “significantly worse” than he published their problems for the first time.
Rangnick, who became a manager before Erik Ten Hag in 2022, led United for the second half of the 2021/22 campaign to become a club consultant, and the German did not hold back the team at that time.
He called for “Open Heart Operation” and a complete reconstruction behind the scenes. While the new minority owners Sir Jim Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos made it available for the latter, things in the field have drastically pulled themselves, with United fighting 14th place in the Premier League rating under Ruben Amorim.
Appearance as an expert Channel+In his opinion, Rangnick was asked about the fights of his former employers, and he quickly made those responsible for their decisions since his departure.
“A few basic things had to be changed, and since then £ 700 million, if not £ 750 million, have been spent on new players,” he started. “And in the table they are even significantly worse than then.
“You could actually save with a win in the Europa League this season, because then you will be in the Champions League. Anything else would be a disappointment and it will be interesting to see what will happen.
“You signed a trainer in the middle of the season that plays with a three or a five-year-old, and the squad was based on a four-back system. This is what you see when you see you play, especially in games of the Premier League against the opponents, against whom Manchester United usually has to win.
“Sure, in the Europa League you – usually with the result against Lyon, removed it – you turned it around. And of course the stadium had a big effect.”
Amorim openly demanded openly in the summer transfer window and demanded the players who are better suited for their 3-4-2-1 formation, but United is facing the discouraging view of selling players before signing new ones.
The efforts are currently concentrated on the Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Matheus Cunha, but there are plans to sign a new striker and goalkeeper. Other plans, such as an expensive change for the Southampton winged player Tyler Dibling, could depend on whether United qualifies for the Champions League.
