Rangers have approached Wrexham to try and re-sign former striker Josh Windass in the January transfer window.
The 31-year-old played for the Gers between 2016 and 2018, scoring 19 goals and providing 13 assists in 73 appearances.

As first reported by Give Me Sport, The Pitch Prospect understands the Scottish giants have made a loan request for Windass.
He now plays for Wrexham in the Championship but his former manager Danny Rohl wants to work with him again.
However, the Hollywood team is not interested in letting Windass go so quickly and wants to keep him at the club this winter.
Windass joined the Red Dragons in July and has since made 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing three assists.
He moved on a free transfer after leaving his old club Sheffield Wednesday due to severe financial difficulties.
But he played under Rohl at Hillsborough, and he is said to have not ruled out another transfer in the new year.
Windass scored 50 goals in six seasons for Sheffield Wednesday, with the player working alongside Rohl in his final two seasons.
There could be a reunion between the pair but it is not yet known whether Wrexham will soften their stance on his future.
They sit 15th in the English second division and with hopes of another miraculous promotion push looking unlikely, Windass could be tempted by a move to Scotland to join Rohl.
Rangers will still be playing European football in January and that could be a deciding factor in attracting him to a move this winter.

Lucky for the second time?
Windass has been linked with Rangers for the second time in just a few months after rumors began circulating over the summer.
In fact, the striker confirmed that he had the chance to sign for the Scottish side before joining Wrexham instead.
And in the same interview where he spoke about his departure from Sheffield Wednesday, he also hinted at his strong connection with Rohl, who now wants to reunite with him.
Windass told The Athletic in October: “[The decision to leave Sheffield Wednesday] was very simple.
“Last summer I almost left but with the manager [Rohl] I stayed, in the end I stayed.
“This time I was ready to take on a new challenge. I could have gone back [to Rangers] this summer.

“I had really good times there, a great club. But I felt it wasn’t right at that point.”
With Rohl on the Rangers, could now be the right time?
The German coach has taken charge of 14 games at the club since replacing Russell Martin in the dugout at Ibrox.
He won six of those games, drew three and lost five.
