Real Madrid could be ready to take over Santiago Solari as an interim coach in order to cover the period between Carlo Ancelotti’s expected departure and the time required to appoint a permanent replacement, according to a report.
After Ancelotti had delivered two Champions League titles in four seasons in four seasons since he returned to Bernabeu in 2021, for the second time he became victim of Madrid’s stiff requirements. The disappointing quarter -finals of this season, combined with the submission of domestic control in Barcelona, will be rejected the legendary Italian 12 months before the end of his contract.
Since Ancelotti is probably a year of the 2026 World Cup in Brazil’s new head coach, Madrid is looking for a new boss. Xabi Alonso is the preferred goal, with Jürgen Klopp no return to coaching, and Bayer Leverkusen will not block the talks.
The 2024/25 campaign works a little different due to the first iteration of the newly expanded and newly formatted World Cup in the United States in June and July.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Madrid is willing to take over a preliminary takeover of the team for the tournament if a deal for Alonso or another person cannot be signed in time. Leverkusen end her season on May 17, about four weeks before the start of the World Cup. But La Liga has only been completed for Madrid May 25th, so the window for a handover, told the least, is tight.
In the event of a preliminary appointment, Romano Santiago Solari mentions for potential candidates.
GET OVER has reported that Ancelotti is expected to leave at the end of the home season instead of going earlier – or staying a little longer to cover the World Cup. This strengthens the idea that a meantime could be necessary for this short outbreak.
Solari, who appeared as a Madrid player from 2001 to 2005, was made an interim head coach in October 2018 after Julen Lopetegui was released. He quickly signed a three -year contract as a permanent boss, but was only released a few months later.
The Argentine’s record was 22 victories from 32 games and paid the prize for a humiliating exit of the Champions League against Ajax. Solari won at least the Old Club World Championship during his short stay.
Madrid will play her first game of the new tournament against Al Hilal in Miami on June 18.
