Ruben Amorim hails Man Utd leader after comeback point at Everton

Ruben Amorim welcomed Bruno Fernandes’ importance for Manchester United after his excellent free kick in Everton had led to a comeback point.

The Red Devils traveled to Goodison Park to relieve the pressure on Amorim after a series of disappointing results. But a gentle showing in the first half that admitted Amorim was “soft”. Thanks to the goals from Beto and Abdoulaye Doucore, Everton, 2-0 at half -time.

Fernande’s free kick became back into the game with almost 20 minutes in the game, and eight minutes later a point was saved by Manuel Ugarte. It led Amorim to praise the role of his captain, even though he was critical of another lukewarm United Outing.

He is really important in every position he plays, “said Amorim about Fernandes.” He is the guy who can sometimes hold the ball in the most difficult moments, and that is really important for the team. He is a leader, he scored the first goal and helped us today to get a point.

“We have to win three points and win the whole game,” said Amorim about United’s display. “The worst thing is that we lose the ball without pressure and not do what we have to do. We were soft.

“We managed to recover the second half. But in the first half we did not exist at that moment we have to win.

The Portuguese added how United can become more consistent: “I don’t know, if I know, I will change it. We have to do everything we do in the game better. Concentrate every day.

United remains the 15th place in the Premier League table, now with West Ham United after her 1-0 victory in Arsenal.
