Ryan Reynolds donates £10,000 to fundraiser of Wrexham teenager

The co-owner of Wrexham, Ryan Reynolds, has donated 10,000 pounds for a fundraising campaign for 13-year-old Lexi, a brave girl from Wrexham who fights a rare and aggressive form of cardiac cancer.

In June, the disease was diagnosed in Lexi Collins and has already subjected two operations to the open heart, a pacemaker installed and is currently receiving intensive chemotherapy.

Despite the challenges, it is Lexi’s dream to visit this Christmas in New York City – a wish that, thanks to the support of the community, is now becoming closer to reality.

The first fundraising campaign was set up by Lexi’s family and supported by the Wrexham Police FC, which started its own Gofundme page to finance her dream trip. With Reynolds’ generous donation of 10,000 GBP, the original target of 20,000 GBP has now been reached.

Wrexham Police FC announced the exciting news and said: “A big thank you to our friend @vancityreynolds that he has again shown his incredible generosity. Because of his support, Lexi will go to New York if she feels good enough. Not all heroes wear, he wears a red and black suit.”

In addition to Reynolds’ contribution, there is also a separate Gofundme page set up by the von Lexi family to cover the costs for potential overseas treatment, travel and the essential medical editions associated with their fight against cancer.

The biggest donation on this page is £ 5,000 from Ethan Payne, known as Behzinga, a YouTube star and member of the Sidemen.

Although this generous donation was not confirmed, it comes from Payne, who had previously shared the left to Lexi’s fundraising campaign on his social media accounts.
