Sofyan Amrabat ‘wants to stay in the Premier League’ with Man United yet to decide on £25million transfer option


According to Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade, Sofyan Amrabat wants to stay in the Premier League.

The midfielder joined Manchester United on a season-long loan from the Italian club last September.

His season did not go quite to plan, starting only 15 of his 30 games for the club and failing to secure a place in Erik ten Hag’s starting eleven.

However, he showed more of his skills after establishing himself as a regular in the team in the final weeks of the season.

Part of the loan agreement was an option for Man United to extend the contract permanently for a transfer fee of up to £25 million. Where he will play next season, however, is still unclear.

A return to Fiorentina would be an option, but the club’s sporting director Prade said: “I would keep him in Florence, but that doesn’t seem to be what he’s planning.”

“I think he wants to stay in the Premier League, but we haven’t heard from anyone since.”

Amrabat spoke about his future at Man United after the FA The victory in the cup final against rivals Man City suggests that staying in Manchester is a possible outcome.

Amrabat told Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport: “Do I already know what I will do next year? No. We will talk. Staying is certainly an option.”

“I think it’s been a very difficult season. Things have to get much better for Manchester United and for me personally.”
