In order to replicate the golden success of 2022, England focused on bringing things directly from the field and creating an environment that is perfectly designed for victory.

With 35 options for base camp within the UEFA catalog, England settled for the Dolder Grand Hotel on the outskirts of Zurich. The FA visited 23 hotels and 24 training levels to ensure that players receive the best facilities to defend their European title.

Before the tournament, the technical director of women, Kay Cassington and Lionesses General Manager Anja van Ginhoven, said the most important criteria that were introduced in the selection process for the basic camp.

The importance of the privacy of the player was considered considerable weight, but the FA also emphasized the need for normalcy during the tournament. A tram system is behind the Dolder Grand Hotel, so that players and employees can access outdoors, restaurants and cafés during their stay.

The Dolder Grand Hotel also offers the camp a compact feeling with the dining room and other facilities in the immediate vicinity.

The FA emphasized how important it is to have a “home away from home” in the base camp to ensure that the squad and the employees are able to win convenient and favorable conditions.

One thing that was considered to a large extent was the training ground connected to the hotel. The training field provided did not correspond to the maximum sizes and was completely exposed to the spectators.

The club had to return to the drawing board to find a pitch that provided the squad the right training foundations in order to best prepare for matchdays. Then they found the training of sports facility Au, which is 20 minutes from the hotel and met all the correct performance requirements.

The training newspaper has a maximum size, is private and not overlooked and has the room to choose a gym and a media status.

On the Au training area sports facility, England will integrate a performance center into the area and include access to medical, nutrition, pre-/rehab training and a high -performance fitness studio under one roof.
