‘They will have to fight’ – Dani Olmo reveals transfer clause which puts Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona on red alert

Dani Olmo has put his admirers on alert after revealing that his £50.5m release clause at RB Leipzig expires in just eight days.

The versatile Spanish attacker is currently favourite to win the Golden Boot at Euro 2024 – so it’s no surprise that a number of Premier League teams are keeping an eye on him.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona are among the top European clubs keen to sign Olmo. Olmo scored three goals for La Roja this summer on their way to the Euro 2024 final against England this Sunday.

He has also been linked with Manchester City and Manchester United.

Now the 26-year-old has dropped a clear hint about his future: He said that the clubs will probably face a tough transfer battle for him this summer if they do not sign him before the clause expires.

Referring to reports about a possible transfer fee of 60 million euros, which expires on July 20, he told Spanish radio station El Larguero: “Yes, they [interested clubs] already knows what to do.

When the interviewer then suggested that it would be “easier” to sign the Spanish star before that date than later in the summer, Olmo replied: “It is. Otherwise they will have to fight a little later. Exactly.”

Since moving from Dinamo Zagreb to RB Leipzig in 2020, the former FC Barcelona youth star has played 148 games for the Bundesliga team.

During this time he scored 29 goals and provided 34 assists.

Speaking to Spanish broadcaster Cadena SER about Leipzig and a possible transfer, he said: “I’m not worried.

“I have my people who take care of everything. I’m too busy with the European Championships to think about anything else.”

“Especially now that the final is upon us. I have nothing else on my mind.”

Olmo’s current contract with Leipzig runs until June 2027, a contract he extended last June.

When asked whether he was looking for a change of scenery and a possible change of club after four years in Leipzig, he said: “We’ll see. I have a contract with RB Leipzig. I’m not thinking about that.”

“The people I trust already know my opinion and what I want to do. That’s all that matters.”

“I just want to win and keep winning,” he continued. “That’s what I said when I renewed my contract. They wanted to set up a successful project and that’s why I renewed. I want to win titles.”

“So we will see that in the end we [he and Leipzig] “We have a very good relationship, both with the coach and the sports management, so there will be no problems.”
