Mikel Areta wants to strengthen his attack options before the upcoming campaign.
A third place in a row follows in the Premier League in a row, and its waiting time for a title is now 21 years.
Arsenal’s sports director, Andrea Berta, worked for both Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokocoker on potential offers.
Both the Gunners and the Manchester United have had discussions with Gyokoker who are determined to force them through a step.
The Swedish striker scored 39 goals for Sporting Lisbon to relieve them last season.
In the meantime, Arsenal recently opened talks with RB Leipzig about Sesko.
The transfer expert Ben Jacobs has now provided an update about the progress of both deals.
He appeared in Inside Gooners and explained: “With this race for a number nine, what happens are both offers for Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokoker before a formal offer is made.
“Sesko is advanced and arsenal wants to pay under the release clause, which is based on how well he did last season.
“It is € 80 million and Arsenal is looking for € 65 million or 70 million euros.

“Then there is this whole excitement in sports with Gyokeres at the moment, because Gyoker believes that there is a fixed number for which he can go and Sporting wants a bidding war and a negotiation.
“But this final number is probably still around 70 million euros, but possibly also with add-ons.”
Sesko has a publication clause in the new Leipzig deal, which he signed last summer after achieving 13 leagers last season.
As far as Gyokoker is concerned, he is involved in a dispute with the club’s price.
The President of the Portuguese champion has publicly clarified that the club will refuse to accept what he sees as a “low” fee for the striker.
Gyokoker’s situation means that a potential offer for Sesko would present itself earlier.
Jacobs in detail the time frames for both signs and added: “It also depends on the player. If you agree to a fee for Sesko, I could think that you could actually be done if the window opens on the 16th.
“I’m not saying that the first day on which the window opens again, but in the past two weeks of this month.
“Gyokoker will take a little more time due to the interest and the currently currently taking place.”
Gyokoker had hoped to have control over the race to sign him this summer before the latest saga with Sporting.
Jacobs continued: “My understanding with Gyokoker was originally that the player had basically said:” They come to me and I will tell them who I want to join and then I will go to sports.
“Now I am told that Sporting says to the clients:” You have to get through the front door, you tell us whether you want Gyokeres, and then we will talk about conditions. “

“The player now begins to worry that there could be another club if he selects a preference, agrees to a higher fee for sport and he may not get his desired goal.
“While part of this pact is not just about it, you can leave for around 30 million euros below the release clause by staying at Sporting for the entire last season.
“It was also about going to the Gyokokeres Camp first so that he could give a clear preference, and that would probably only lead to a free return to sports, which of course would make the club a bit easier.”
The 27-year-old has three years in Portugal after signing Coventry in 2023.
