It is assumed that the 28-year-old is interested in returning to English football.

However, there is doubt as to whether the Scotland would fall into the championship internationally and would convince.

Adams previously played for Birmingham after completing a change from Sheffield United in summer 2016.

He made 123 appearances for the club, scored 38 goals and supported 13 more in three seasons in St. Andrew’s.

The striker then signed Southampton for a reported £ 15 million in 2019 and showed 124 times in the Premier League.

A surprising step to Torino followed in July last July, with regular appearances also performing in the Italian club.

If Adams return to Birmingham, he will join a team who wrote the English football league history with its title victory at League One.

The blues defeated Blackpool on Wednesday evening with 2-0 to achieve 108 points, which is a record number in the EFL.

“Think about how many soccer teams there were, how many seasons there were,” said manager Chris Davies about the performance.

“And we are the team that has received the most points in the history of English football.

“To achieve 108 points is really special and a remarkable performance.

“I had talked to the players about the legacy that we could leave this season and the sign we could make in the football world.

“I got into them – to pursue such a record, is not a club record, not something that brushing people. Everyone will know what we did.”

The victory against Cambridge United on Saturday would therefore bring an incredible 111 points of a possible 138.

Birmingham was relegated from the championship in the 2023/24 season, but her exile only took a year.

You will be accompanied by Wrexham in the second stage, the automatic action of which is confirmed, even though you have 19 points.
