Barcelona could be competing with Tottenham Hotspur transfer Persecution of highly respected Rayo Vallecano foreign defender Andrei Ratiu.
Ratiu only played economically last season, but enjoyed an outstanding euro in 2024 with Romania and has stepped into another walk for Vallecano during the current campaign.
The 26-year-old hit headlines for a breathtaking gate over the weekend, which caused Vallecano to earn a point against Seville and to stay in the mix for the European locations of La Liga. Under the circumstances, there were actually two points that brought a late balance against an opponent of the lower half.
Mundo Deportivo writes that Barcelona “Ratiu follows with great interest”, with the player already mentioned in a meeting between his representatives and the sports director Deco.
Jules Kounde has been converted into a right-back since his arrival from Seville, where he developed into one of the Europe’s elite central defenders, and there is a lack of cover in this position.
But Barcelona is not the only club connected to Ratiu. Tottenham is also referred to as a potential freelancer. Pedro Porro and Djed Spence are the right -back options there, although the latter were mainly used this season.
Villarreal, where Ratiu joined Spain in childhood after the move of the academy at the age of 12, are also associated with Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Roma, Atalanta and Brighton & Hove Albion.
A release clause of € 25 million (£ 20.65 million) could be regarded as low -hanging fruits.
Ratiu is something like a late bloomer in professional football. The defender played in detail for Villarreal C and Villarreal B up to the age of 23 and came to a unique senior appearance. A move to the second animal Huesca came in 2021, followed by a 2023 switch to Rayo Vallecano. With a short loan in the Eredivisie, Ratiu has achieved fewer than 50 top flight appearances in his career.
