Chelsea are expected to revive their interest in Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez as the search for a new number one intensifies.
As reported in this notebook, the Blues were keen to sign Argentinian World Cup winner Martinez last summer but were reluctant to pay big money.

Villa posted losses of £119.6m last year, sparking fears they may have to sell players to stay on the right side of the Premier League’s PSR rules.
Chelsea have made signing a new goalkeeper one of their main priorities and also have England pairing Jordan Pickford and Aaron Ramsdale on their list of potential options.

The Parisians believed they had signed Silva a year ago before he decided to sign a new three-year deal at the Etihad.
But after failing again in their quest for a Champions League title, the French giants are planning a summer rebuild with the Portuguese once again taking center stage.
PSG will be encouraged by the fact that City appear to have a ready-made replacement for fan favorite Silva in West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta.
Paqueta is believed to have an £85m release clause that comes into effect this summer and Pep Guardiola was keen to sign the Brazil international before he was accused of breaching FA betting rules, for which charges were never brought became.

The Pitch Prospect understands Everton staff have come to terms with the deal being out of the question after waiting nine months for Premier League approval, and American investment group MSP is now ready to launch a rival takeover bid .
The original agreement between Moshiri and 777 was worth around £550m and the Miami-based investment firm has since loaned Everton more than £200m to help fund ongoing running costs and player salaries.
Moshiri is threatening to give in to pressure from fans by pulling out of the deal and finding an alternative buyer.
But after racking up debts of over £500m, including £160m to MSP, Monaco-based Moshiri is not in a strong position to demand a record payment.

The versatile Walker-Peters fits the profile of the type of attack-minded full-back that Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is looking to recruit as cover for Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie.
Walker-Peters, 27, is out of contract at the end of next season and the Saints will be forced to sell if they fail to gain promotion via the Championship play-offs.
