Manchester United are ready to extend the contract of coveted Scott McTominay to keep him at Old Trafford.
This time last year, Man United were open to offers for McTominay, who attracted interest from West Ham and Newcastle.

But the Scottish star developed into one of the Red Devils’ most outstanding players, scoring ten goals and helping them win the FA Cup.
United have already rebuffed interest in McTominay from Turkish club Galatasaray, while Fulham are eyeing him as a possible replacement for Joao Palhinha.
The 27-year-old’s current contract expires next summer, but United have the option to extend it for a further year.
Cathedral decision
West Ham are the latest Premier League club to show interest in Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Newcastle wanted Calvert-Lewin before the deadline for implementing profit and sustainability rules last month, but the Magpies were reluctant to pay Everton’s £40m asking price.
Although it is unlikely that West Ham owner David Sullivan would agree to such a high transfer fee for a player with a worrying injury history, he is among the potential strikers they are keeping an eye on.
Calvert-Lewin is in the final year of his contract and interested parties will hope Everton will lower his valuation as the transfer window draws to a close.

Priced out
Sources told The Pitch Prospect that Marseille had cited “a ridiculous number” when rejecting their interest in striker Hwang Hee-Chan.
Former Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi, who now manages the French club, is keen to bring Hwang to Ligue 1.
But Wolves boss Gary O’Neil has made it clear that he does not want to lose Hwang at any cost.
The South Korean scored 13 goals last season and played a key role in O’Neil keeping Wolves comfortably in the Premier League.
Wolves are under no financial pressure to sell following Max Kilman’s £40 million move to West Ham.

Gone?
Leeds face a tough fight to keep Willy Gnonto.
Gnonto began a strike last summer in an attempt to force a move away from Elland Road following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship.
The Pitch Prospect has learned that the Italian has again signalled his desire to leave the club after Everton held new talks with his agents.
Leeds have already lost Archie Gray to Tottenham and there is interest in Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville.
