Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold became the butt of a joke about Roy Keane and Tranmere Rovers on Sunday unexpected draw in the Premier League against Manchester United.
Although Alexander-Arnold is praised for his technical ability on offense, he has often come under criticism for the defensive side of his game.
This weakness was exploited by United and Keane didn’t hold back in the post-match coverage Sky Sportsmade fun of the ongoing transfer relations with Real Madrid and suggested that such performances would be more at home in the second division.
“It’s too easy, just a few balls over it,” Keane said during the broadcast.
“Trent defending, it’s like schoolboy things. Speaking of moving to Real Madrid: After that he’ll go to Tranmere Rovers.”
Tranmere’s social media team saw the opportunity and responded Xearlier Twitter.

Alexander-Arnold’s future remains uncertain as he ended his contract with Liverpool in the summer and is currently on his way to leaving the club as a free agent for the arms of Real Madrid. The European champions also tried unsuccessfully to bring him to Spain earlier.
The 26-year-old has a big decision to make at a crucial moment in his career. Gary Lineker, who had experience swapping England for Spain after joining Barcelona in 1986, recently suggested that criticism of Alexander-Arnold’s defense would be less common in La Liga.
“He’ll love it [in Spain]. It will be amazing. You will adore and appreciate his passing range. “He is in the prime of his career,” Lineker continued The rest is football in December.
“I wouldn’t begrudge him that. It seems to me to make a lot of sense. Free transfers have been Real Madrid’s approach of late. He is very close to Jude Bellingham and would fit in wonderfully. He would be a huge success.” In my opinion, they wouldn’t focus as critically on his defense as we do here.
