Chelsea midfielders Carney Chukwuemeka and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are set to join West Ham United in January transfer Radar.
Until recently, a four-game winning streak began, the Blues had managed to return to the Champions League under the leadership of Enzo Maresca.
But the Blues boss has managed this turnaround without using the entire bloated squad at his disposal and sidelining a number of players.
The telegraph report that Chukwuemeka and Dewsbury-Hall are two of those players who have caught the attention of West Ham as they look for a new midfielder in addition to a striker.
Chukwuemeka, signed for £20m from Aston Villa in 2022 at a time when Chelsea appeared keen to attract as many emerging talents as possible, has not played in the Premier League at all so far this season. The 21-year-old, who is reportedly worth £40 million, has never even made the bench in a league game and his only minutes of action came in the Carabao Cup and Conference League.
Dewsbury-Hall followed Maresca from Leicester City after a top season in the Championship, but found the new demands were a step too far. Although he has played a few Premier League games, he has yet to be in the starting line-up and often doesn’t even make it onto the bench. The 26-year-old is another who relies on other, less important competitions to get on the pitch.
Cesare Casadei also played under Maresca at Leicester last season when he was on loan from the Blues, but was only a peripheral part of the squad at Stamford Bridge. Gianluca Di Marzio has announced that talks between Chelsea and Torino are continuing, with Casadei on board.
However, Chelsea are demanding €20m (£16.6m) and a buyout clause for the 21-year-old. Torino’s best offer to date is for a total of €12m (£9.95m) and a future sell-on clause. Further discussions are expected this week.
