Gameweek 20 of the Premier League comes to an end at Molineux on Monday evening as Wolves take on a formidable Nottingham Forest side.
Nuno Espirito Santo returns to his old stomping grounds for the first time since taking over at Forest in December 2023, with the former Wolves boss working wonders at the City Ground.
Forest will end the game week in third place in the Premier League no matter what happens in the West Midlands after Chelsea dropped points at Crystal Palace. The Tricky Trees ended 2024 with a 2-0 win at Everton – their fifth win in a row.
Wolves are also enjoying good form, with their recent resurgence inspired by the appointment of Vitor Pereira following the sacking of Gary O’Neil. The Portuguese coach led Wolves to wins over Leicester and Manchester United before they picked up a point at Tottenham last weekend thanks to a superb late finish from Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Here is 90 minutes Guide to the latest version of Monday Night Football from Molineux.

Wolves were dealt a huge blow at the start of 2025 when the FA confirmed that Matheus Cunha will serve a two-match ban after being charged over his antics following the game against Ipswich in December.
Goncalo Guedes is close to replacing the coveted Brazilian, but the Portuguese striker has big shoes to fill.
Cunha is one of several Wolves absent from Monday’s game. The hosts will be without Sasa Kalajdzic, Enso Gonzalez, Yerson Mosquera, Boubacar Traore, Pablo Sarabia and Toti Gomes due to injuries.
Marino Lemina and Andre are both doubts.
Predicted line-up for Wolves against Forest (3-4-3): Sat; Doherty, Bueno, Dawson; Semedo, Doyle, Gomes, Ait Nouri; Hwang, Guedes; Larsen.
Forest have benefited from no injuries this season, although they were without Callum Hudson-Odoi and Murillo for their win at Goodison Park to end 2024.
Both players are expected to be fit in time for Monday’s game and they will also have Ryan Yates at their disposal after the midfielder served his one-match ban.
Danilo is out for a long period of time while Ibrahim Sangare is still suffering from a hamstring injury.
Expected Forest vs Wolves line-up (4-2-3-1): Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Yates, Anderson; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood.
Wolves are hampered by Cunha’s absence but last Sunday they fought back to claim a point at Spurs after the Brazilian was substituted at half-time. The hosts should be able to manage without their outsider in attack.
Pereira has inspired this Wolves team since his arrival, but it remains to be seen whether their recent resurgence will continue.
Forest have proven they can win games in a variety of ways. Although they excelled in transition, Nuno’s team didn’t rely solely on quick counter-attacks on offense. Recent wins at Brentford and Everton prove that.
However, Wolves’ newfound confidence makes Monday’s game difficult and – in the fifth game in a row between these two – the spoils may well be shared.
