Silva is set to become a free agent at the end of this month after 18 months with Fluminense in his native Brazil.

The 41-year-old returned to his youth team last summer after leaving the Blues.

However, Silva is now looking for a return to Europe ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

He is keen to be called up to the Brazil squad ahead of the tournament, despite not having featured since the 2022 edition.

Terry’s message to Chelsea

Before Silva becomes available again, Terry has urged his old club to include him in Enzo Maresca’s squad.

In a video shared on TikTok, the former Chelsea captain said: “Thiago Silva is available. Now listen to me, a man with great experience, a man with a great relationship with our football club.”

“His two children [Isago and Iago] If he is at our academy he will no doubt be back here in London with his family for Christmas.

“I would like to see this man back in our football club, playing alongside these players.
