The fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup is scheduled to take place over the weekend as Women’s Super League (WSL) teams prepare for their tournament debut.
All 12 WSL teams will now take to the pitch as 32 clubs prepare to fight for a place in the FA Cup round of 16. The teams that make it to the fifth round will take home £54,000, with the top prize for the competition winners being £430,000.
Since the fourth round of the competition will take place next weekend, 90min breaks down everything you need to know…
Manchester United took the crown in 2024 after a 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur was enough to see them emerge victorious under the arch at Wembley Stadium. The win was United’s first title since the club was founded in 2018.
Arsenal have long been the historic giants of the FA Cup, winning the competition a total of 14 times. Despite the club’s domestic dominance, the Gunners last won silverware nine years ago, in the 2015/16 season, when they beat Chelsea 1-0.
Chelsea and Manchester City have been sharing domestic glory since Arsenal’s dominance began to wane. The Cityzens have since taken home gold in three seasons, with Chelsea winning it four times.
The first games of the upcoming fourth round will take place on Saturday, January 11th between Brighton & Hove Albion and Durham and Manchester United against West Bromwich Albion. The remaining games will take place on Sunday, January 12th.
